Atlas of Diagnostic Cytopathology is divided into three volumes: Gynecologic cytology, Non-Gynecologic Cytology, and Cytology Laboratory Technology. Gynecologic cytology in this book is predominantly liquid-based cytology and incorporates the current Bethesda terminology.Non-Gynecologic cytology includes body fluid cytology and Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) cytology of almost all the common body sites. Short descriptive text, plentiful photographic illustrations, summaries of major diagnostic criteria, and discussion of the pitfalls and limitations of cytology are included in almost every chapter. The last volume of the book is a cytotechnologic manual including many basic detailed laboratory operation procedures and technical methods used in most of the North American cytology laboratories. Cytopathology is both visual art and science, we have compiled over 1500 color images covering many common and uncommon benign and malignant conditions in cytopathology. The cytology of these lesions is shown in Pap-stained smears, Diff-Quick stained smears, and liquid-based cytology. |
